Abstract: Womanity has decided to strategically accelerate gender equality and economic empowerment of women&#xD;
in India by developing and supporting sustainable models that look at women's land rights pathways that&#xD;
can be adapted and scaled across the country. The program focuses on increasing land literacy, women’s&#xD;
land ownership and long-term land access to secure livelihoods for 50,000 women at the community&#xD;
level. Womanity’s Theory of Change (ToC) Document outlines the rationale and the pathway to advance&#xD;
gender equality and economic empowerment of women through sustainable models and strategic&#xD;
interventions. Womanity has outlined three phases to reach 50,000 women – Build, Enhance and Scale.&#xD;
In the Build phase, it seeks to identify challenges, evolve prototype sustainable models, measure&#xD;
effectiveness and impact, support implements, invest in research, and develop a comprehensive evidence&#xD;
plan.     This learning document prepared by ISST contributes to the efforts of the Build phase of Womanity. The&#xD;
objective of this document is to capture the learnings of the various partner organizations, key members&#xD;
of the Womanity team, and the other stakeholders (referred as the Womanity ecosystem in India) in the&#xD;
first 18 months of the project period, as well as their future learning needs. Through a thorough analysis&#xD;
of the data collected over six months, a learning framework was expected to map all possible needs for&#xD;
building knowledge and strengthening capacities within the Womanity ecosystem to effectively address&#xD;
various WLR issues</description>

Abstract: Utthan is a non-profit organization working in the coastal and tribal districts of Bhavnagar, Amreli, Bharuch, Dahod, Panchmahal, and Mahisagar in Gujarat state, focused on empowering small and marginal women farmers. Their unique approach combines sustainable agriculture, gender sensitization, and ensuring women’s land rights through interventions that represent Socio-Technical Innovation Bundles (STIBs). The objective of this study is to unpack and understand the combination of technological, technical and other social and behavioral innovations by Utthan that aim to make women farmers resilient and empowered. The primary research questions center around examining the processes of designing and implementing STIBs, studying the effectiveness of these strategies in mitigating structural gender disparities, and assessing their influence on women's resilience and empowerment. Utthan views women as knowledge holders, agents of change, emphasizing on community engagement, adaptive learning, and peer support. Its lead farmer-to-farmer approach enhances knowledge transfer, fostering sustainability. Utthan's holistic model which promotes resilience and gender equity among women farmers facing socio-cultural and economic barriers, was found to be most suitable for this research.</description>

Abstract: Adolescence is a period of intense change when young people begin to form aspirations shaped by their socio-economic realities. For adolescents and youth from underprivileged backgrounds, particularly girls, these aspirations are often constrained by limited resources, gender norms, and everyday violence. This report presents findings from research and programmatic work conducted by the Institute of Social Studies Trust (ISST) in Kalyanpuri, Delhi, through its Saathi and Yuva Saathi Centres.&#xD;
Using mixed methods—situational analysis, qualitative case studies, and participatory observations—the study explored how aspirations are formed and negotiated. While both girls and boys face structural barriers, girls contend with deeper restrictions on mobility, access to resources, and control over their agency and decision-making. Gendered violence, both within homes and in public spaces, further undermines their sense of agency and overall well-being.&#xD;
The findings underscore the importance of gender-sensitive, community-rooted interventions that expand adolescents’ real freedoms and choices, strengthen their capacity to aspire, and enable them—especially girls—to imagine and pursue more just and equitable futures.</description>
